The HOPE Program

Our Cleveland-based team mentoring program designed by trauma professionals for youth who have been impacted by foster care. We recruit a team of volunteers from diverse backgrounds and we let youth choose who is on their team. We train youth and volunteers then we bring them together to help create friendship and support that encourages youth to reach for their dreams. Volunteers meet weekly for the first year with youth, and then continue well past the first year based on the friendships that have been built. We have over 50 Teams that meet all around Cleveland. We are always looking for more volunteers to join us.

In 2021, we will launch a two year pilot program in Lorain County with the support of the Mental Health, Addictions and Recovery Services board. We will serve youth 18-25 years of age through the Ohio Healthy Transitions Project for youth who are “systems involved”.

CORE Club

We meet monthly with youth who have experienced foster care or homelessness to strengthen our CORE. This club is designed to give youth a safe place to have some fun. We have dinner together, play games, do activities, listen to inspiring speakers and support one another. This club provides peer to peer support.

Middle School Mentoring Model

We partnered with Urban Community School to create a 6th grade team mentoring model that they call the Wolfpack Program. This program is in its pilot stage and we hope to learn from this year and expand it to more middle schoolers. The program is designed to wrap support and encouragement around youth during the transition from elementary school to middle school.
